Why This Campaign Is In Effect

In the last 10 years, Clayton County has seen a steady growth in property taxes above those of our neighbors in Fulton, Dekalb and Rockdale. As parents, it’s our hope to leave our children something of value, which includes the home they grew up in. As property taxes continue to increase, the likelihood residents will be able to leave their children the property where they were raised becomes steadily less likely. Property taxes keep pushing residents away, outside the county.

This campaign is in full swing; we are dedicated to driving voters to the polls to check and balance the Clayton County Board of Commissioners. We must take a stand and demand that any new business that requires zoning in this district provide residents with details on how their business will help lower our property taxes or diffuse potential traffic congestion. As traffic continues to swell, due to new businesses entering the district, we must protect our way of life and ensure a safe and livable community. 

Running for Clayton County Commissioner District 1, I stand for the people of Clayton County.  I support taxpayers, both homeowners and renters, and advocate for building and providing affordable housing. I also champion the efforts of workers who provide for themselves and their families and others. I believe that every worker should be paid and represented fairly, and I believe in the accountability that unions in Clayton County bring for workers under their purview.  Benefits such as job protection, safety, and training, among many others that unions afford their members, are truly commendable.
